HTML from scratch

Hi people, I'm looking to move into the world of web design and need to know what is the best book(s) to begin learning (X)HTML/HTML5 from scratch. I understand there are a ton of resources available for free online; HTML Dog, W3C Schools etc... but I'm looking for good books. I got a copy of HTML and XHTML: The Definitive Guide 6th Edition (the latest, I believe), but it looks to be outdated. Your recommendations are greatly appreciated.
