Looking for inexpensive oriental mood lighting for my wedding reception?

My wedding reception is outside in my backyard. The area is surrounded by 3 tall trees. One directly out the back door and one on either side (kinda makes a diamond shape) and I need an inexpensive way to light the area. I was thinking stringing lights from tree to tree around the area with chinese paper lanterns but that has gotten pretty expensive since it is 120ft all around. I'm afraid the trees are too tall to hang stuff from. Any thoughts?
