I think forum is not the best place to get traffic, however it can benefit you. I am members of many forums, and I get more traffic from which I am active and make quality posts. Signature can be less effective. People come to forums to get information or even to ask simple things. Answer their questions with suitable links. In other words, look for posts that ask about the information you have in your websites so they will positively click your link.
