In a recent survey 85% of people said they tend to ignore sponsored listings. That means for every 100 people doing a search on Google (and other search engines), 85 of them are going to ignore your ad no matter what it says. People learn to quickly tune out advertising and marketing and they've certainly done do with PPC. If your website was ranked in the top 10 or the organic listings (the ones you don't pay for), your listings wouldn't be ignored. I've never heard of a single person ignoring the regular listings of a search engine, have you?
